Technical Training Institute – Chumey
Admission Policy
1. Introduction
The Technical Training Institute (TTI) Chumey is committed to providing quality technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to equip youth with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes required for meaningful employment and self-reliance. This admission policy ensures a transparent, fair, and merit-based system for enrolling students into various training programs.
2. Objectives of the Admission Policy
- To ensure a transparent and fair admission process.
- To provide equal access and opportunity to all eligible Bhutanese applicants.
- To promote gender equity and regional representation.
- To prioritize youth development and employability.
3. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must meet the following general eligibility criteria:
- Must be a Bhutanese citizen.
- Should have completed minimum academic qualification as required for the specific course/program (e.g., Class X or Class XII pass).
- Must meet the age requirement (generally between 16–25 years; exceptions may be considered for special cases).
- Should be physically fit to undertake technical training.
4. Application Process
- Admission announcements will be made through official government platforms, local media, and the institute’s notice board.
- Interested candidates must submit a completed application form along with copies of academic transcripts, Citizenship Identity Card (CID), recent passport-size photographs, and other relevant documents.
- Applications must be submitted by the deadline mentioned in the announcement.
5. Selection Process
- Applicants will be shortlisted based on academic merit and other selection criteria as specified for each program.
- An interview or aptitude test may be conducted where applicable.
- Final selection will be published on the institute’s notice board and/or website.
6. Course Allocation
- Selected candidates will be admitted to courses based on their preferences, merit ranking, and availability of seats.
- Each course has a limited number of seats, and in the event of oversubscription, a waitlist will be maintained.
7. Special Considerations
- Priority may be given to economically disadvantaged youth, women, persons with disabilities, and those from remote or underrepresented regions.
- Reserved quotas (if applicable) will be adhered to as per national TVET policies.
8. Fees and Funding
- Training is generally provided free of cost as per government policy.
- Stipends, boarding, and meals may be provided to trainees based on availability of resources and funding.
9. Code of Conduct and Withdrawal
- All admitted trainees must abide by the institute’s rules and code of conduct.
- In cases of voluntary withdrawal or disciplinary removal, readmission policies will apply as per TTI regulations.
10. Review and Updates This policy shall be reviewed periodically to align with national TVET goals and changing educational needs.
